Step 2: Request Your Transcripts
Ask the registrar’s office at your previous college(s) to send an official transcript to ub-admissions@buffalo.edu or:
- Office of Admissions
- University at Buffalo
- 12 Capen Hall
- Buffalo, NY 14260-1660
Electronic versions of your transcripts are strongly recommended. A separate official transcript must be received from each institution you previously attended.
If you’ve completed fewer than 24 credit hours at the time you apply, we will review your high school transcript in addition to your previous college academic record. UB does not require SAT and ACT test scores for admissions and scholarship consideration. Students can share their scores as part of their application if they choose by selecting this option on their application. If submitting scores, SAT or ACT standardized test scores must be submitted directly from the testing agency. UB's SAT code is 2925. The ACT code is 2978. UB welcomes students from all backgrounds, and every application goes through the same holistic review process. Read our test-optional admissions FAQ. Emphasis will be placed on your college academic record.
Final Transcripts
If you currently have courses in progress, please ask the registrar of your college to send a final official transcript directly to the Office of Admissions as soon as the semester is completed. Be sure that any degree received is noted on the transcript. Your acceptance is provisional until final records are received.
Will Your Credits Transfer?
UB accepts all college-level credits from regionally accredited two- and four-year degree-granting institutions. You can check how your courses match UB courses and requirements on TAURUS, UB’s course articulation website.
UB also grants credit for a number of alternative forms of credit. These alternative forms of credit are not considered at the time of admission. They are added to a student’s record after starting courses at UB. You must submit an official score report to have your alternative credit evaluated. Learn how to request official score reports for exam credit.
Proof of High School Graduation
To verify that your final transcript and proof of high school graduation have been received, please call admissions processing at 716-645-6403. Please be aware that if you are filing for any type of state or federal aid, receipt of a final high school transcript or GED will be required before any funds can be disbursed to you.
Mail both to:
- Office of Admissions
- University at Buffalo
- 12 Capen Hall
- Buffalo, NY 14260-1660
