Biomedical Sciences BS/PharmD
The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences enables students to increase the breadth of their undergraduate experience, combine courses from various departments within the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and focus their undergraduate experience in preparation for professional studies.
The doctor of pharmacy degree (PharmD) is a professional degree that enables one to work as a pharmacist, interacting with patients and other health care practitioners as medication experts.
The BS/PharmD program combines three years of undergraduate study in biomedical sciences and four years of graduate work in pharmacy. The BS portion of the combined degree is awarded after the fourth year of study/first year of pharmacy school. The PharmD degree is awarded after the seventh year. Application to the doctoral program is made following the second year at UB.
