Living in Buffalo
Life, the Buffalo way.
A hip and historic city situated on an international border, Buffalo has reinvented itself for the 21st century. We’ve converted old factories into apartment complexes and corporate headquarters, repurposed grain silos into rock-climbing walls, and turned our waterfront into an Instagram-friendly destination that offers yoga classes, free outdoor concerts and plenty of people-watching.
Although we’re the second-largest city in New York State, Buffalo is really a diverse blend of tiny communities, each with its own distinct character. Our students can be found all over Western New York, from the vibrant Elmwood Village to the eclectic Allentown to our quiet, family-friendly suburbs. And as the third most affordable city in the U.S., Buffalo is a great choice when it comes to your bottom line.
Outside the city, the Western New York region has plenty of outdoor adventures that are just a short ride from campus. Visit Toronto and Niagara Falls. Hike to the Eternal Flame in Chestnut Ridge Park. Plan a ski weekend in Ellicottville.
If there’s one thing to know about life in Buffalo, it’s this: Buffalo isn’t just a city — it’s a way of life.
