Program Overview

The Office of Undergraduate Education builds on the UB tradition of quality undergraduate education by providing students with a distinctive educational experience that will promote intellectual exploration, foster a global perspective and an informed worldview, and develop cultural understanding. Undergraduate Education offers courses through the Undergraduate Academies living and learning community and Discovery Seminar Program. The Academies connect students directly to a community of supportive faculty, staff, and peers, enhancing their UB experience through the integration of academic exploration, civic engagement and personal growth.

The Office of Undergraduate Education and its Dean oversee all academic aspects of UB's undergraduate curriculum. In addition, the Office provides students with several distinctive educational experiences that promote integration through exploration to meet student's individual academic goals. Courses offered in the Undergraduate Academies living and learning community and in the Discovery Seminars Program provide UB's undergraduates with dynamic opportunities to explore new academic disciplines and to collaborate with our distinguished faculty. The Office of Undergraduate Education recognizes UB students for their achievements in learning about the history, culture, and character of other countries and participation in international activities through the Global Scholars Program .
